We call this plant "The Long Hair".

We had it when we were living in our basement at SF. It was one of a few items accompanied us when we moved in our current house. I will always remember during the drive from SF to South Bay, how it stood in the back of the pickup truck, how its long hair was blown so violently on the highway that it was bended to its root. I was so worried that it would snap any moment.

It was okay, and now it is thriving in our sunny backyard.
